The Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation is offering the opportunity for two doctoral candidates to undertake full-time research within the international EDICT consortium (Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials) (https://www.edictproject.eu).  The candidates will be funded for 3 years as part of the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network (DN) training programme HORIZON-MSCA-2024-DN-01-101226601. EDICT brings together 6 Partners and 15 Associated Partner organisations from throughout Europe. EDICT will employ 16 Doctoral Candidates (DCs) across the consortium, two of which will be based at the University of Aberdeen.

EDICT has been established to address a critical challenge in clinical trial research: too often, the people in these studies don't reflect the diversity of patients who will eventually use them. When trials exclude certain groups, treatments may not work as well or as safely for everyone. EDICT's mission is to train a new generation of researchers with the expertise and practical skills to transform how clinical trials are planned, conducted, and reported. Through innovative research, partnerships across universities and industry, and engagement with policymakers, EDICT will drive sustainable improvement in clinical trial inclusivity.
