Lecturer in Healthcare Education

This post is designed for individuals who have a keen interest in teaching for healthcare professionals and who wish to pursue a career with an emphasis on education and training. The main focus of the post is on postgraduate education for healthcare professionals but there are opportunities for involvement in all aspects of medical and dental undergraduate education, including strategic planning and research. You will lead the development and delivery of MSc programmes for healthcare professionals wishing to develop their clinical practice and career opportunities.  The main responsibility will be for the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, involving online and blended learning modes and designed to fulfil the requirements of Advanced Nurse Practitioner roles or the equivalent for other healthcare professionals. You will also contribute to the MSc Clinical Education and short courses in Critical Care Nursing.  You will divide your time between teaching, curriculum management educational research and development.

You will join the Institute of Education for Health & Medical Sciences as one of a vibrant team of academic, administrative and clerical staff who support the undergraduate medical degree programmes and the Master’s in Clinical Education. The Institute also leads and supports the educational governance systems in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. You will be located with colleagues in the Medical School who contribute to healthcare education and research and who deliver our postgraduate educational programmes.  The post is based in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill campus, Aberdeen.

 

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
