Lecturer in Education (Teaching & Scholarship)
The School of Education is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Education (Teaching and Scholarship) to work in the Department of Postgraduate Taught and Professional Learning primarily in support of the Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) programme.
The principal duties of this role will be programme director and leading teaching and assessment. This will involve leading and managing the TQFE team, liaising with college tutors across the sector, representing the University of Aberdeen on national groups and promoting the programme to attract potential new students.
It will also include some face-to-face teaching, online teaching and assessment of TQFE participants (including observations of teaching practice). Face to Face teaching sessions take place in various locations around Scotland. The successful candidate will join a supportive teaching team and will have the opportunity to lead to the ongoing development of the TQFE programme and practice-based research and scholarship in further/vocational education and other allied areas. The team has a strong history of partnership working and international collaboration and the successful candidates should be comfortable working in partnership with colleagues in the college and university sectors.
The successful candidates should have recent teaching experience in the Further Education sector (or other equivalent experience) and experience of supporting and mentoring educational professionals. They should have a recognised teaching qualification and a Master's degree (SCQF level 11) or higher in Education or an allied subject.
This post will be offered at Grade 7, £47,389 pro rata for 0.8 FTE. It is preferable that candidates are available to start in January or as soon as possible thereafter, subject to any notice period.
