Lecturer in Computer Science

The School of Natural and Computing Sciences is looking to appoint a full-time staff member at Lecturer level in Computing Science to, initially, teach introductory courses on our launch BSc programme in Computing Science and MSc Artificial Intelligence. As our degrees programmes become more established, teaching duties may change to more advanced courses.  The expectation is that all teaching is carried out in India over the course of one semester, with additional student project supervision from either India or Aberdeen. The post will be a teaching and research (T&R) position with the successful candidate expected to develop a high-quality programme of research. Research topics that align with our core research groups are strongly encouraged, as are candidates working in interdisciplinary computing science areas or in areas linked to collaborative opportunities in Mumbai.

We look to appoint academics who understand and have experience of delivering teaching to and assessing international students, especially Indian students. We are seeking to appoint someone who is ready to join an ambitious school and take on responsibility for a growing curriculum. The successful candidate will take responsibility for degree programme design, the quality assurance delivery and assessment of courses on the programme and liaising with academic and admin colleagues in Aberdeen and Mumbai Campus. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute research outputs in computing science appropriate to our planned Research Excellence Framework submission.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
