Graduate Trainee Student Support Administrator
In recent years, in terms of Higher Education, Student Support has seen rapid development. As a result, there has been a noticeable increase in institutional responsibilities and raised student expectations.
The University of Aberdeen Student Support Services are seeking to recruit a new Graduate Trainee Student Support Administrator to ensure that students are supported with a range of individual requirements, and that our services evolve to meet the expanding needs and expectations of the student population. This will involve working closely with individual students, colleagues across support services, the wider University, and our external support partners.
The Student Support Administrator will have a pivotal role in the delivery of frontline advice and support to students and applicants on a wide range of matters, including personal, health, accommodation, and financial concerns, ensuring that a positive, welcoming image is created and maintained. This will include answering student queries, referring to appropriate colleagues and services, and managing admin processes to support the delivery of our services.
The Student Support administration team work closely with Student Support Advisers to develop and enhance support provision, and effectively manage case files and service data. The Student Support Administrator will be responsible for supporting a range of administrative processes within Student Advice & Support including those associated with support for disabled students; hardship funding; and student discipline. This role will take a specific focus on financial processes, including invoicing, raising purchase orders, and ensuring timely and accurate income regeneration from the Disabled Students’ Allowance.
Salary will be on point 20 of the Grade 4 Salary Scale, £29,179 per annum, for the first year. During the second year of training salary will be on point 22 of the scale, £30,805 per annum.
Graduate Trainees will normally be expected to undertake a period of on-the-job training before they will be considered for appointment or regrading to a career grade position within the University, normally on the locally determined Grade 5 scale (spinal Point 24).
